Chesterfield Township is a quaint coastal town located in Michigan. It is the gateway to Anchor Bay and is approximately 30 miles north of Detroit. This historic community is bordered by New Haven on the north, Ira Township on the east, and Macomb Township on the west. In recent years, Chesterfield has experienced population growth due to the new and prosperous suburbs spreading north into Oakland County.

Chesterfield is a beautiful town that offers residents a unique and charming suburban lifestyle. With a population of approximately 46,000, Chesterfield offers great suburban living. The town is home to several businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, and office parks. It is also home to several public transportation options, including buses and trains.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

For a quick bite, head to Noodles and Company for satiating international noodle and pasta dishes, including everything from man and cheese to Pad Thai. For a truly unique dining experience, feast at Texas Roadhouse, where you can enjoy American fare with a Southwestern twist amid Texas-themed decor. LongHorn Steakhouse offers similar dishes and full beer and wine menus.

For those who enjoy shopping and a good time out with family and friends, Waterside Marketplace provides a plethora of one-stop shopping. Located on the scenic waterfront of Anchor Bay, the Marketplace features a variety of restaurants and stores. For unique finds, numerous boutique shops, and specialty stores, the Partridge Creek Mall offers a great selection of luxury and upscale stores.

Things to Do

Art enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts, which houses one of the largest and most significant art collections in the U.S. Over 100 galleries cover 658,000 square feet and offer thousands of objects from various eras and cultures. For those who enjoy being outdoors, the township has seven parks, including Lake St. Clair Metropark and Anchor Bay Park. Plenty of activities keep visitors busy, including fishing, canoeing, swimming, camping, and more.

Nature lovers can explore Stony Creek Metropark, which covers 4,461 acres with various hiking trails and scenic views. The Stahls Automotive Foundation is a must-see for those interested in automotive history. This foundation is dedicated to preserving the history of the automobile and boasts one of the world's largest collections of vintage cars. 

The Guardian Building is also worth a visit, a class-A office building owned by Wayne County. The facility provides a unique glimpse into the past with its Art Deco architecture and decor. Plus, it's a great place to take in breathtaking views of downtown Detroit.

Finally, try out the Detroit Zoo, home to over 2,000 animals. The zoo's exhibits and attractions make for a fun day out for families and visitors. Events in this community include the annual Chesterfield Township Heritage Festival and the Christmas on the Square celebration.
