Welcome to Ira Township

Ira Township is a civil township located in St. Clair County and includes two towns: Anchorville and Fair Haven. This beautiful community rises slightly from the shoreline of Lake Saint Clair, with abundant woods, open space, and farms surrounding it. The local architecture of the town is a mixture of modern, Victorian, and Colonial homes. Ira Township is also home to attractions such as the Anchor Bay Museum, the Ira Township Historical Society, and the Anchor Bay Wine Trail.

Local Lifestyle

Ira Township is a small rural community in the northwest section of Michigan. The town has just over 5,000 people and is known for its suburban-rural mix feel. The city is home to a small industrial area, which helps provide residents with jobs. In addition, the town is also home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and several restaurants. Ira Township offers residents a sense of community often lacking in larger cities.

Anchor Bay Pit Stop Diner is a great place to stop and grab a bite in Ira Township. The diner offers a variety of American classics, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If you're in the mood for something a little lighter, Gina's Cafe is a great choice. The cafe offers hearty soups, salads, and sandwiches, and the coffee is always fresh.

Carter's Cantina is the perfect spot to enjoy Mexican fare and margaritas. The Cantina offers a variety of delicious seafood dishes and unique, flavorful margaritas. Bobby Macs Bayside Tavern & Grill is incredible for live music and good food. The tavern offers a fantastic selection of burgers, sandwiches, and salads, and the live music is always entertaining.

On The Bay Boutique, Bar & Cafe is the perfect place to shop. The boutique houses various clothing, jewelry, and accessories, and the cafe is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

The township is home to Lake Saint Clair Metropark, which offers endless fun for visitors, including swimming, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. The park also has a nature center with interactive exhibits and a beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Stony Creek Metropark is a great place for those who enjoy the outdoors. The park has miles of hiking and biking trails and canoeing, kayaking, and bird-watching opportunities. For more fishing and swimming, visit Bouvier Bay for its scenic views of the St. Clair River.

The Scarab Club is a popular destination in Ira Township. The club is an art gallery that features rotating exhibitions of local and regional artists. The Royal Oak Farmers Market is another local hotspot near Ira Township. The market features locally-grown produce, baked goods, flowers, and more.
